Artist Profiles

It usually begins with a conversation—a sharing of what it means to live a creative life. Whatever it is, the way you tell a story can make all the difference. The Ali Kazimi piece was commissioned by the Canada Council for the Arts—a short for the Governor General’s Awards 2018, Chrystal Mowry’s was made for the Arts Awards Waterloo Region and Shary Boyle’s Elephant for CAFKA’s 2021 biennial Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost.

Each year our MFA candidates choose an established artist to study with anywhere in the world—this fully-funded scholarship is possible due to the kind gift of Keith and Win Shantz. Check out the University of Waterloo's MFA program—a hidden gem! https://uwaterloo.ca/fine-arts/graduate
